Undergraduate at Boğaziçi University

2017 – 2023

I studied mechanical engineering at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Türkiye. It was there that I truly learned the first principles of our universe and engineering.

Outside of coursework, I was very involved in sports. I spent the summers of 2019 and 2020 as a windsurfing instructor in Alaçatı.

I was also captain of the Boğaziçi University Ski Team in 2022-2023, after serving as co-captain for the four years before that. We competed in intercollegiate ski races across Türkiye and won multiple cups in different disciplines.

I graduated with a 3.80/4.00 GPA, ranking 3rd among 64 students, and was honored to receive the 2023 Rector’s Award and the 2023 Sports Achievement Award.

During my studies, I also spent a semester abroad at the University of Texas at Austin in Fall 2021. Right after graduation, I joined CERN as a technical student.

Along the way, I worked on a number of projects:

I also interned at a few places:

  • Turkish Aerospace Industries (Summer 2022): I worked on the final assembly line of the TAI Hürjet, a supersonic jet aircraft, where I learned how pieces are bolted together to make an aircraft.
  • Simularge (Summer 2022): I wrote software to automate finite-element simulations of deep drawing using CalculiX.
  • Aselsan (Summer 2021): I ran computational vibration simulations on a truss structure under development.

I’m always interested in discussing business and technology. I also have plenty of ambitious project ideas in mind if you’re looking for one.
